At Visiting Angels of West Michigan, we know that it isn't easy to make the decision to invite a stranger into your home to provide non-medical homecare. That's why our highly personalized screening system is the best in homecare and designed to maximize your peace of mind. You'll have the opportunity to interview any caregiver who we refer to you. You'll only accept a caregiver that you feel totally comfortable with. The criminal screening service that we use is the best in the business. It checks out the caregiver on a county basis including social security number, DMV, insurance and verification if valid for employment in the United States. However, we place most emphasis on the intangible traits in a care giver which will mean so much in your day to day experience in working with them. These traits would be: a caring loving personality; a strong desire to help people; a family experience of caring for a loved one.

A very common profile of our caregivers is: strong prior experience in home care giving; experience with volunteer organizations; affiliations with religious organizations. Most important, most of our caregivers provide references to us from sources we can trust (other agencies, nursing homes, religious organizations, charities, hospices, assisted living communities etc.). It is most important to us to put your needs first! We will only refer a caregiver to you who has the necessary experience to fulfill your individual needs. What this means for you,

You are in charge of everything. Because we are a non-medical, custodial care agency and not a nursing agency, Visiting Angels of West Michigan will not dictate to you what your schedule is to be (i.e. what time to get up, when to bathe, meal schedules etc.). You are the boss. It is our job to adjust to your schedule and to see to it that you remain comfortable in your own home.

VERY REASONABLE RATES
Our non-medical homecare system allows you to bring a top quality caregiver into your home with utmost affordability. Since we are a small agency, Visiting Angels of West Michigan has minimal overhead compared to most agencies. When other agencies quote high hourly rates, they are simply passing along their high overhead to you. Visiting Angels of West Michigan clients pay comparatively low fees. However, our caregivers receive top hourly fees. Other agencies who charge a higher fee for themselves to cover their high overhead experience a much greater turnover in caregivers. For this reason, we can attract and keep the best quality caregivers available.
